Position: Program Officer

Clean Energy Nepal (CEN), a non-profit organization, is seeking a qualified, proactive experienced Nepali citizens for the post of ‘Program Officer’ to work on projects related to Climate Change and Air Pollution.

Roles and Responsibilities

- Ensure timely and effectively implementation of project activity in line with the project plan, targets and deadlines
- Support in designing and organizing workshops, trainings and events
- Build and strengthen network with concerned stakeholders for undertaking the programs and activities
- Support and work closely with line ministries, departments and key partners with relevant issues especially on Climate Change and Air Pollution
- Undertake policy analysis related to Climate Change and Clean Air and Urban Mobility from which research based advocacy campaign should be developed
- Ensure regular and meaningful monitoring and evaluation of CEN’s programs and routinely report on the impacts and performance of the organization to the    Unit coordinators
- Assist in conducting research, designing and publishing the newsletters and policy brief/factsheet/brochures as required
- Prepare a monthly plans and progress report of the project
- Support other programmes and activities of CEN as required

Qualification and Experience

- At least Bachelor degree in Environmental Science, Environment Management, Climate Change
- At least 1 year of relevant working experience in Climate Change and Air Pollution related issues
- Ability to develop research methodology, analyze data and produce quality reports
- Capacity in project management and conducting monitoring and evaluation
- Ability to facilitate trainings, meetings and workshops at all level
- Excellent interpersonal, communications and coordination skill to work effectively in multi-cultural settings
- Good command over English and Nepali language, and proficiency in MS Office Package

Terms and Location

The contract will be for one year and based in Kathmandu, but should travel outside of Kathmandu as per requirement. The contract shall be further extended as per the requirement and the performance of the staff. Salary and benefits are provided as per rules of CEN.
